Earthquake MC440 Mini Tiller
A 32 lb four-cycle cultivator with reversible tines. For garden beds, food plots and anywhere a full-size tiller is more machine than the job needs.
Not every job needs a machine you have to trailer. At 32 pounds the MC440 works garden beds, breaks up compacted soil between rows, and preps small food plots without the bulk and weight of a full-size rear-tine tiller. One person can lift it into a car boot.
It is a four-cycle engine, which is the detail worth caring about: straight gasoline, no mixing oil, and quieter than the two-stroke equivalents. The reversible tines let you switch between gentle cultivation around established plants and aggressive digging into harder ground, and variable speed means you can back it off near anything delicate.
The stand-up starting system means you pull it from behind the handlebars rather than bending over it, which matters more than it sounds like it should by the third bed.
What people use it for
- Turning over garden beds in spring and autumn
- Working compost or amendment into existing soil
- Small food plots and wildlife plantings
- Cultivating between rows during the season
- Weeding and aeration in beds that are already broken
Worth knowing
This is a cultivator, not a sod-breaker. It is built for pretilled beds and worked soil. Point it at established lawn or hard virgin ground and it will bounce rather than dig - that job wants the excavator or a full-size rear-tine tiller. If you are not sure which side of that line your ground falls on, call and describe it.
